As of November 2009, Switzerland was not engaged in an armed conflict governed by international humanitarian law. As a neutral country in case of war, Switzerland is bound by the following conventions:

Convention (V) respecting the Rights and Duties of Neutral Powers and Persons in Case of War on Land. The Hague, 18 October 1907.
