United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF)

UNDOF was established by Security Council Resolution 350 (1974), 31 May 1974, following the disengagement agreement between Israeli and Syrian forces on the Golan Heights (S/11302/Add.1, 30 May 1974).

UNDOF supervises the implementation of the agreement and maintains the cease-fire. Both parties cooperate fully with the mission and for a number of years there have been no serious incidents.

The mission includes 42 military personnel and one international civilian staff. The state contributors are Austria, Canada, India, Japan, Poland and Slovakia.
