Ioana Cismas

Researcher

Ioana Cismas is a researcher at the Academy. Her work involves academic research and the provision of legal and policy expertise and advice to various stakeholders. As part of the team of the Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Ioana is offering legal support to one of the members of the Advisory Committee of the UN Human Rights Council. In this position, she contributed to a number of studies of the Advisory Committee, such as the Study on discrimination in the context of the right to food.

Dr. Christophe Golay

Research Fellow

Christophe Golay is the Joint Coordinator of the Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights at the Academy. His main research areas are related to the right to food, access to justice for victims of human rights violations and the work of the UN Special Procedures on economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR). He is undertaking research for the Swiss Government on ESCR and is teaching Professional Trainings in ESCR at the Academy.

Dr. Stuart Maslen

Research Fellow

Stuart Casey-Maslen is currently a Research Fellow at the Academy. His main research areas concern international law and armed non-state actors, legal developments regarding the negotiation of a future Arms Trade Treaty, the application of international human rights law to weapons, and the RULAC Project on the implementation of the Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts. He also serves as the Mine Action Editor of Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor for Norwegian People’s Aid.

Dr. Mina Rauschenbach

Research Fellow

Mina Rauschenbach is as a Research Fellow at the Academy. She is working on an interdisciplinary research project about the perspective of the accused of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Her main research areas concern justice perceptions and social representations, intergroup processes in international conflicts and attributions of responsibility in the legal context, as well as the issues of victims and their experience of justice and restorative justice.

Gilles Giacca

Researcher and Teaching Assistant

Gilles Giacca is currently researcher and teaching assistant at the Academy. His main research area are related to economic, social and cultural rights in armed conflict situations, international law and armed non state actors, legal developments regarding the negotiation of a future Arms Trade Treaty, and the implementation of the rule of law in armed conflicts (RULAC Project).

Claire Mahon

Research Fellow

Claire Mahon is an international human rights lawyer based in Geneva, Switzerland. She is the Joint Coordinator of the Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School.

Alice Priddy

Research Fellow

Alice Priddy has been a researcher at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights since January 2011. Alice graduated with an LL.M in international human rights law and public international law from University College London in 2010. She completed her undergraduate degree in law at Southampton University, England.

Dr. Damien Scalia

Research Fellow

Damien Scalia is currently a Research Fellow at the Academy. His main research areas are related to legacy of international criminal justice, perception of accused people and sentences in international criminal justice. He also teaches international humanitarian law and international criminal law in different other universities.
